  • explain how the Business Framework simultaneously enables independence and integration for applications.
  • describe the stages and activities in the Customer Order Management (COM) process.
  • describe all the stages in the Production process.
  • provide an overview of the steps and activities involved in the Procurement process.
  • discuss the financial accounting processes for both internal and external accounting requirements.
  • describe the structure and functionality of the Human Resources (HR) module in Release 4.6.
  • describe the functions of the Plant Maintenance, Project System, and Service Management modules.
  • explain how SAP R/3 Release 4.6 both connects a business to the outside world and integrates its internal processes.

Moving to SAP R/3 Release 4.6

Module 1: Navigating SAP R/3 Release 4.6

Overview/Description – To enable the student to log on to SAP R/3 Release 4.6, manipulate the user interface, navigate the system, and create and configure a favourites list

Target Audience – Existing SAP R/3 users upgrading to Release 4.6

Prerequisites – General understanding of SAP R/3

Expected Duration (hours) – 1.8

Lesson Objectives

  • log on to SAP R/3, customize the logon menu, and change a password.
  • log on to SAP R/3 as an end-user and change a password.
  • identify the components of the SAP user interface and explain their functions.
  • explain how to change the appearance of various elements of the SAP interface.
  • describe how to use the SAP Easy Access screen to navigate to and run SAP transactions.
  • create a shortcut from the desktop and from an open screen.
  • describe how to open, navigate between, and close multiple sessions in SAP R/3 Release 4.6.
  • describe the function of the Favourites folder and move, rename, and delete items in the folder.

Module 2: Using SAP R/3 Release 4.6

Overview/Description – To enable the student to work with tasks and to describe some of the updated screens in Release 4.6

Target Audience – Existing SAP R/3 users upgrading to Release 4.6

Prerequisites – General understanding of SAP R/3

Expected Duration (hours) – 2.1

Lesson Objectives

  • use the User and SAP menus to find transactions.
  • manipulate fields and input, change, and save data.
  • describe how to locate object codes using the search and help features in the SAP R/3 system.
  • create a purchase order using Release 4.6.
  • print a variety of documents in SAP R/3 Release 4.6 and select their output settings.
  • explain the new Release 4.6 interface features and the changes in the Materials Management module.
  • describe the new interface changes associated with sales orders and customer master records.
  • discuss the fundamental changes that have occurred in the Service Management module in the move to the new Release 4.6 graphical user interface.
  • explain how to display vendor master records, enter a vendor invoice, and display vendor line details.
